Paludrine and Avloclor Antimalarial Tablets Travel Pack is to give some degree of protection against malaria in certain countries. Some types of malaria require that you take more than one type of tablet, at the same time, to help prevent malaria. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for non immune residents and travellers to malarious areas as these individuals have little or no immunity to malaria and risk severe attacks. You should ask your doctor or pharmacist if these are the right anti-malarials for the part of the world you are visiting. Similar to Malarone tablets.
Directions:
Adults (and children over 14 years): 2 Avloclor tablets should be taken once a week, on the same day each week. 2 Paludrine tablets should be taken daily. Children: Do not give to children under 1 year. The following single dose of Avloclor should be take

Ingredients:
Each Paludrine tablet contains Proguanil Hydrochloride B.P 100mg. Each Avloclor tablet contains Chloroquine Phosphate Ph Eur. 250mg (equivalent to 155mg of chloroquine base as the active ingredient).
Warnings:
As with all medicines, undesirable events are sometimes experienced. These may include headache & stomach upset, other events may sometimes be experienced infrequently or following use for a long period of time: mouth ulcers and inflammation of the mouth, skin rash or itch, hair discolouration, or hair loss (sometimes reversible), blurring of vision or difficulty in focusing eyes, convulsions or fits, mood changes or other effects on behaviour. Do not be alarmed by this list of possible events, you may not have any of them. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you think you have any of these or any other problems with these tablets.
Side Effects:
Keep all medicines away from children. Store below 30c, protected from sunlight and moisture. Take medical advice on which anti-malarial drugs are appropriate. Before taking your medicine tell your doctor or pharmacist if you: are taking other medicines, including any you might have bought, have ever had any problems with your liver or kidneys, have ever been told you have porphyria (rare disease of blood pigment) or anyone in your family has it, have epilepsy, or history of convulsions, seizures or fits, have psoriasis (a scaly condition of the skin) or if you are breast feeding, pregnant or suspect you are pregnant.
