Pirinase (formerly Flixonase) Allergy Nasal Spray 60 Sprays

Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray works to Help relieve allergy symptoms for up to 24 hours and helps prevent the return of symptoms during the day. It protects from all major airborne allergies including pollen (hayfever), pet hair, dust mites and mould spores. Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray has a direct action to relieve allergy symptoms where they start. You can use it in advance to prevent symptoms if you know you are going to come into contact with anything that may trigger your allergy. Airborne allergies result from irritants that you could breathe in through the nose and cause hayfever like symptoms.

The active ingredient, Fluticasone proprionate is a corticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory actions similar to the bodies own natural chemicals to control inflammation. Although it may take 3-4 days use for it to build up to its maximum effect, there are some points to consider:

• Do not use if you are under 18 years of age or allergic to any of the ingredients.
• If your symptoms do not improve within 7 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not use continually for more than 3 months without checking with your doctor first.
• Speak to your doctor or pharmacist first if you are taking other medications, particularly corticosteroids (creams, inhalers, tablets, injections, nasal sprays and eye/nasal drops)
• Only to be used in the nose - do not swallow
• Try to use the spray in the morning
• Try to use the spray before one of your 'triggers' if possible

Adults aged 18 years and over:

• Spray two puffs into each nostril once daily.
• Once symptoms have improved, you may wish to reduce your dose to one spray in each nostril once a day.
• If your symptoms are severe, you may need to spray two sprays into each nostril twice a day.
• DO NOT USE MORE THAN 8 SPRAYS IN ANY ONE DAY (400 micrograms).
• Use the lowest possible dose to control/improve your symptoms and do not exceed the stated dose.
• If you forget to take a dose, take your next one at the usual time - do not double the dose.

If your experience any of the following, stop using your spray and seek medical advice:

• Allergic reactions including rashes, swelling of the mouth or face and difficulty breathing.
• Blurred vision or pain.
• Nasal pain or continuous bleeding.

 The following side effects are cosidered normal but should still be reported to your doctor or pharmacist:

• Sneezing (usually after using the spray but should stop)
• Unpleasant taste/smell
• Nose bleeds
• Dry/irritated nose or throat
• Headache
