What are Paramol Tablets?

Paramol Tablets are used for the short term treatment of acute moderate pain which is not relieved by paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin alone.

What type of pain can Paramol be used for?

Paramol can be used to ease many types of pain and other symptoms. These include (but are not limited to):
    • Headaches
    • Migraines
    • Toothache
    • Period pain
    • Neuralgia
    • Back ache
    • Muscle pains

How do I take Paramol tablets?

Paramol tablets need to be taken orally. Contact your doctor when experiencing such symptoms. Paramol Tablets should be taken during or after meals. Adults and adolescents 16 years old and over: Take one or two tablets every four to six hours. Children aged 10-15 – take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours when needed.   DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN 4 DOSES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD.

When should I NOT take Paramol?

Paramol tablets should not be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product if you suffer from thyroid, kidney or liver problems, or have asthma or breathing difficulties If you suffer from any of the following conditions, please speak to your GP before taking Paracetamol:
    • Liver problems
    • Kidney problems
    • Alcohol dependancy
    • Thyroid problems
    • Asthma
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please contact your GP before taking Paramol. Paramol may interact with other medication. For a full list of the interactions please check the patient information leaflet.

Are there any side effects when taking Paramol?

There can be some side effects when taking Paramol, however not everyone will get them. These can include:
    • Constipation
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Dry mouth
    • Dihydrocodeine can cause drowsiness, although at the dose in Paramol this is unlikely
    • Headache
    • Dizziness
    • Blurred vision
    • Confusion
    • Difficulty passing urine
    • Sweating.
    • Dependence on the medicine if used regularly or for long periods of time
If you experience any of these side effects when taking Paramol, please stop using it straight away and contact your GP.
