What it does

Ovex Family Pack treats threadworm (pinworm) infections of the gut. Mebendazole stops the worms from absorbing the sugars they need to survive, helping clear the infection. Treating the whole household at the same time helps prevent re-infection.

Directions & Dosage

Age	Dose for threadworms (Enterobius vermicularis)
Adults & children 2+ years	One tablet (100 mg) as a single dose for each household member at the same time. If re-infection is suspected, a second single tablet may be taken after 2 weeks. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Children under 2 years	Do not use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Tablets may be chewed, crushed, or swallowed whole with water. Good hygiene (hand-washing, short nails, daily morning washing, and frequent laundering of sleepwear/bedding) is essential to help prevent re-infection.

Warnings & Precautions

Do not use if you are allergic to mebendazole or any ingredient in the product.
Children under 2 years: not recommended.
Pregnancy: do not use unless a doctor has told you to.
Breast-feeding: seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Liver disease: consult your doctor before use.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you are taking.
Side effects are uncommon but may include stomach pain, diarrhoea, or rash. Stop taking and seek medical help if you get signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., swelling of the face/throat, difficulty breathing, severe rash).
If symptoms persist or recur after treatment and hygiene measures, speak to a healthcare professional.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25 °C. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.

How to help prevent re-infection

Treat all household members at the same time.
Wash hands and scrub nails regularly, especially after using the toilet and before eating.
Wear underwear at night; change underwear, nightwear, and bedding daily for several days.
Shower in the morning to remove eggs laid overnight.
Discourage nail-biting and thumb-sucking.
