Each tablet contains Codeine Phosphate 8 mg and Paracetamol 500 mg.

Effective relief of short-term moderate pain that is not relieved by paracetamol, ibuprofen, or aspirin alone—for example, headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, muscle and rheumatic pains, and neuralgia.

How it works

Co-Codamol combines paracetamol (an analgesic and antipyretic) with codeine (an opioid analgesic). Together they provide stronger pain relief than either ingredient alone for short-term use.

Dosage & Directions

Always follow the label. Do not exceed the stated dose. Swallow tablets with water.

Adults & the elderly: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Adolescents 12–18 years: 1 tablet every 6 hours as needed. If required, may increase to 2 tablets. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Children under 12 years: Do not give (risk of severe breathing problems).
Duration: Take for no more than 3 days unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you to. If pain persists, seek medical advice.

If you miss a dose: Take the next dose when needed if it is due; do not double dose.

Warnings & Precautions

Important: This medicine contains codeine which can cause addiction and withdrawal if used for more than 3 days. If you need to use it for longer, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products (risk of serious liver damage).
Alcohol: Avoid alcohol; increased risk of drowsiness and liver problems.
Driving & machinery: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
Breathing problems: Do not take if you have acute asthma, severe respiratory depression, or chronic breathing difficulties unless advised by a doctor.
Pregnancy: Not recommended unless advised by a doctor. Breast-feeding: Do not use; codeine passes into breast milk and may harm your baby.
Liver or kidney disease: Consult your doctor first; you may need a lower dose or different medicine.
Interactions: Talk to your pharmacist if you take sedatives, anti-anxiety medicines, antidepressants (including MAOIs in the last 14 days), sleeping tablets, other opioid painkillers, or enzyme-inducing medicines (e.g., some epilepsy treatments, rifampicin, St John’s wort).
Allergies: Do not take if you are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, or any of the excipients listed below.
Ultrarapid metabolisers: If you know you metabolise codeine very quickly (CYP2D6), do not take—risk of opioid toxicity.
