Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel 5.3g Topical oral pain relief

Fast-acting gel for short-term relief of toothache and mouth pain.

Overview

Orajel Extra Strength Dental Gel is a topical oral anaesthetic designed to provide rapid, targeted relief from toothache and minor mouth and gum irritation. The convenient 5.3g tube allows precise application directly to the source of pain.

Key features

  • Fast, targeted relief: apply straight to the painful area.
  • Extra strength formula: formulated for short-term toothache and gum pain.
  • Precision tip: easy, mess-free application.
  • Portable size: 5.3g tube fits easily in a pocket or bag.

What it’s for

  • Temporary relief of toothache (e.g., from a lost filling, broken tooth, or emerging wisdom tooth).
  • Minor irritation of the gums and mouth.

Note: This product offers temporary relief only. Toothache often indicates an underlying dental problem—seek advice from a dentist as soon as possible.

Disclaimer: Information provided for general guidance only and not a substitute for professional dental advice. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

Directions & dosage

Adults and children 12 years and over:

  • Using a clean finger or a cotton bud, apply a small pea-sized amount of gel directly to the affected area inside the mouth.
  • Use up to 4 times daily, as needed.
  • Allow the gel to remain in place; do not eat or drink immediately after application to avoid washing it away.

Children under 12 years: Do not use unless a doctor or dentist advises.

Short-term use only: If pain persists, worsens, or lasts longer than 7 days, stop use and seek dental/medical advice.

Warnings & precautions

  • For oral topical use only. Do not swallow large amounts.
  • Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to benzocaine, local anaesthetics, or any of the ingredients.
  • Methemoglobinemia risk: Rare but serious. Stop use and get medical help immediately if you notice pale/blue skin, headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, or rapid heart rate.
  • Avoid contact with eyes.
  • Do not use on large areas of the mouth or more often than directed.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding: consult a healthcare professional before use.
  • If you have severe toothache with swelling, fever, or discharge, seek urgent dental care—this gel will not treat infection.
  • Keep out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice.
