Doublebase Once Emollient Gel is a high-emollient moisturiser that helps to restore the skin’s natural barrier and reduce moisture loss. The gel spreads easily for head-to-toe coverage and is ideal for once-daily routines, helping to keep skin comfortable throughout the day.Suitable for
- Adults, the elderly, and children.
- Dry, very dry, or eczema-prone skin types.
- Use on body, hands, and legs; avoid eyes and mucous membranes.
Dosage & directions
How much to use
- Adults & children: Apply a generous layer once daily, or more often if required to keep skin moisturised.
- Typical quantity: Use enough gel to leave a thin, visible sheen before it absorbs. Larger areas (e.g., limbs) may need several pumps.
How to apply
- Apply to clean, dry skin. Smooth in the direction of hair growth; do not rub vigorously.
- Allow to absorb before dressing. Re-apply after washing, bathing, or if skin feels dry.
- For hands, re-apply after each hand-wash.
Can be used with other topical treatments. If using with corticosteroid or other medicated creams, apply the medicated product first, allow it to absorb, then apply the emollient after a few minutes unless your clinician advises otherwise.
Pro tips for best results
- Apply within 3 minutes of bathing or showering to “lock in” moisture.
- Use liberally and regularly—emollients work best when used as often as needed.
- Carry a smaller emollient for top-ups when away from home.

Warnings & precautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse well with water.
- Fire hazard: This product contains paraffin. Clothing, bedding, dressings, and fabrics in contact with the gel can become more flammable. Keep away from naked flames and other ignition sources. Change and wash fabrics regularly.
- Skin reactions: Stop use and seek advice if irritation, redness, or a rash develops.
- Infection or broken skin: Do not use on infected areas unless advised by a healthcare professional.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Generally considered suitable, but consult a healthcare professional if you have concerns. If applying to the breast, cleanse the area before breastfeeding.
- Children: Use under adult supervision. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Storage: Keep the pump tightly closed when not in use. Store below 25 °C. Do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
