Overview

Clotrimazole 1% w/w is a broad-spectrum antifungal cream formulated for the skin. It targets dermatophytes and certain yeasts that cause conditions such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis).

Indications

For the treatment of common fungal skin infections, including athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Not suitable for nail infections (onychomycosis) or scalp infections without medical advice.

Dosage & Directions

Who can use: Adults and children aged 2 years and over. For children under 2, use only on medical advice.
How much: Apply a thin layer to the affected area and about 1–2 cm of surrounding skin.
How often: Twice daily (morning and evening).
Typical treatment durations*
- Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis): use for up to 4 weeks.
- Jock itch (tinea cruris): use for 2–4 weeks.
- Ringworm (tinea corporis): use for 3–4 weeks.
Application steps
1. Cleanse the area, then dry thoroughly (especially between toes/skin folds).
2. Apply a thin film of cream and gently rub in until absorbed.
3. Wash hands after application.
4. Keep area clean, cool and dry; change socks/underwear daily.
*Complete the full course even if symptoms improve. If your local product leaflet advises, continue for up to 1–2 weeks after symptoms clear to help prevent recurrence.

For external use only. Do not use in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. Not for nails or scalp unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Do not use if you are allergic to clotrimazole or other imidazole antifungals (e.g., miconazole, econazole).
Stop use and seek advice if irritation, burning, swelling, blistering, or rash occurs.
If symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks (jock itch/ringworm) or 4 weeks (athlete’s foot), consult a healthcare professional.
