Zovirax Cold Sore Relief Treatment Cream 5% - 2g Tube

Zovirax Cold Sore Relief Treatment Cream contains aciclovir 5% w/w, an antiviral ingredient used to treat cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus. It is suitable for adults and children and works best when applied at the first sign of a cold sore, such as tingling, itching, or redness.

This handy 2g tube is ideal for treating a single cold sore episode and can help speed up healing when used as directed.

Important Information

Always read the enclosed leaflet before use. Use only as directed. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Dosage

Apply liberally to the affected area 5 times a day at approximately
4-hour intervals, omitting the night-time application.

Start treatment as soon as possible at the first signs of a cold sore.
Continue treatment for at least 4 days.
If the cold sore has not healed, treatment may be continued for up to 10 days in total.
Wash hands before and after application.
Avoid rubbing the sore unnecessarily or touching it with a towel to help prevent spreading the infection.

Warnings

For use on cold sores on the lips and face only.
Do not use inside the mouth, nose, eyes, or genital area.
Do not use to treat genital herpes or any other skin infection.
Do not use if you are allergic to aciclovir, valaciclovir, propylene glycol, or any of the other ingredients.
If you are immunocompromised or have a weakened immune system, speak to a doctor before use.
If symptoms worsen or the cold sore has not healed after 10 days, seek medical advice.
Do not swallow the cream.
Contains propylene glycol, sodium laurilsulfate, and cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions such as irritation, stinging, burning, or contact dermatitis.
If pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

Other ingredients: Poloxamer 407, cetostearyl alcohol, sodium laurilsulfate, white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, purified water, glycerol monostearate, polyoxyethylene stearate, and dimeticone 20.
