Celluvisc 1% are single-use, preservative-free lubricating eye drops designed to relieve symptoms of dry, irritated, or tired eyes. Each sterile unit-dose vial contains 0.4 ml of solution with the active ingredient carmellose sodium 1% w/v (also known as carboxymethylcellulose).
What it does
- Provides soothing, protective lubrication to the eye surface.
- Helps relieve dryness, burning, grittiness, and irritation from screen time, wind, air-conditioning, or contact lens wear.
- Preservative-free vials reduce the risk of preservative sensitivity.
Always follow your healthcare professional's guidance for use in children and consult a healthcare professional for persistent symptoms. Some users find these drops comfortable with contact lenses; however, most single-use artificial tears are recommended to be applied without lenses in and lenses reinserted after 15 minutes unless the product specifically states “compatible for in-eye use with lenses.”

Directions & How to Use
- Wash and dry your hands.
- Twist off the top of one unit-dose vial.
- Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket, and instil 1 drop into the affected eye(s). Avoid touching the eye or any surface with the tip.
- Blink several times to spread the drop evenly.
- Discard the vial immediately after first use, even if liquid remains.
Dosage
Instil 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 2–4 times daily or as needed for symptom relief.
If you require very frequent dosing (e.g., hourly) or symptoms persist beyond 72 hours, seek medical advice.
If using other eye medicines, allow at least 5–10 minutes between products; apply gels/ointments last.
Ingredients
Active: Carmellose sodium 1% w/v.
Excipients: Sterile, preservative-free ophthalmic solution (see pack leaflet for full list).
Warnings & Precautions
- For external ophthalmic use only. Do not inject or swallow.
- Do not use if you are allergic to carmellose (carboxymethylcellulose) or any listed ingredients.
- Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation; do not drive or operate machinery until vision clears.
- Contact lenses: remove before use; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
- Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if you experience eye pain, persistent redness, changes in vision, or if irritation worsens or lasts longer than 72 hours.
- Pregnancy/breast-feeding: generally considered low systemic exposure; consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not use a vial if the seal is broken or the solution is discoloured.
Storage
- Store below 25 °C. Do not freeze.
- Keep vials in the original pouch to protect from contamination.
- Use each vial immediately after opening and discard any remainder.
