What are Aspirin dispersible 75mg tablets?

Dispersible Aspirin tablets help to prevent heart attacks and strokes in people who have previously suffered from these conditions or who have undergone bypass surgery. Most people at increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke take a low dose aspirin (75 mg) each day. This reduces the risk of having a heart attack by about a third, and the risk of having a stroke by about a quarter.

When should you not take Aspirin dispersible tablets?

Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you suffer from asthma, have a stomach ulcer, a history of stomach ulcers or indigestion or you are currently taking blood thinning medication. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant and do not take if you are breast feeding. Daily aspirin therapy may not be a good choice if you have: A bleeding or clotting disorder that causes you to bleed easily. There is a small risk of serious side-effects with aspirin. In particular, bleeding from the gut. If you develop upper abdominal (tummy) pains, pass blood or black stools, or vomit blood, then stop taking the aspirin and see your doctor as soon as possible or go to the nearest casualty department. A daily dose of aspirin 75mg can reduce the risk of cancer and prevent the disease from spreading, studies show.

How do I take Aspirin dispersible tablets?

️ Standard, soluble or dispersible aspirin tablets should preferably always be taken either with, or just after, food or a drink of milk. This helps avoid the aspirin irritating the stomach. ️ Soluble or dispersible aspirin tablets should be dissolved in a small glass of water before taking.
