Active ingredient: Loratadine 10mg Pack size: 30 tablets What it is: A non-drowsy* antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (allergic rhinitis), pet allergies, dust/mite allergies and skin allergies such as hives (urticaria). *Most people do not feel drowsy on loratadine, but drowsiness can still occur in some individuals.Product Description
Loratadine 10mg Tablets provide fast, long-lasting (up to 24 hours) relief from common allergy symptoms. This product is a suitable alternative to branded products containing loratadine, such as Clarityn, offering the same active ingredient and strength.Helps relieve:
- Sneezing
- Runny or itchy nose
- Itchy, red or watery eyes
- Skin allergies such as hives (urticaria) and itching
How it works: Loratadine is an antihistamine. It blocks the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.
Additional Information
This product contains the same active ingredient and strength as the branded medicine (Clarityn) but is sold under a generic name. Effectiveness and duration of action should be comparable when used as directed. Always read the leaflet and follow the instructions provided with the product. If in doubt, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: 1 tablet (10mg) once daily.
- Children 6 to 12 years (weighing more than 30kg): 1 tablet (10mg) once daily.
- Children under 6 years or weighing 30kg or less: A tablet form is not suitable. Speak to a doctor or pharmacist for an appropriate formulation and dose.
- Older people: Usually 1 tablet (10mg) once daily, but seek medical advice if you have liver or kidney problems.
Method of administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. May be taken with or without food.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Who should not take this medicine?
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to loratadine or any of the other ingredients.
- If a doctor has told you not to take antihistamines.
Warnings and Precautions

- Long-term use: If your symptoms persist for more than 7 days, worsen, or come back frequently, speak to your doctor.
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Commonly reported:
- Headache
- Sleepiness or tiredness
- Nervousness (especially in children)
Stop taking loratadine and seek medical help immediately if you experience:
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Severe rash – these may be signs of an allergic reaction
Storage
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25°C in the original package.
- Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.
