What it does
Benylin Chesty Coughs Original helps relieve productive (chesty) coughs by loosening thick, stubborn mucus so it can be coughed up more easily. This helps clear the airways and reduce chest congestion.How it works

Dosage & directions
- Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 10 ml (two 5 ml spoonfuls) up to 4 times in 24 hours.
- Do not exceed 4 doses (40 ml) in 24 hours.
- Children under 12 years: Not Recommended
- How to take: Measure with a spoon or dosing cup. Swallow. Do not dilute. Space doses evenly through the day.
- If you miss a dose: Take the next dose when due. Do not double the dose.
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time. If the cough lasts more than 7 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by high fever, rash, or persistent headache, seek medical advice.
Ingredients
- Active: Diphenhydramine. Also contains levomenthol for a soothing effect.
- Also contains: Sucrose (sugar) and small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), plus standard flavourings and excipients.

- Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient.
- Do not take with other cough, cold, or flu medicines that contain similar ingredients (e.g., guaifenesin) unless advised by a healthcare professional.
- Diabetes: Contains sugar—seek advice if you are managing blood glucose.
- Alcohol content: Contains a small amount of ethanol; avoid if this is a concern for you.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
- Medical conditions & medicines: Speak to a pharmacist/doctor if you have chronic cough (e.g., asthma, COPD), are on prescription medicines, or have persistent symptoms.
- Side effects: Possible nausea, stomach upset, dizziness, or allergic reactions. Stop use and seek advice if troublesome.
- Driving & machinery: If you feel dizzy, do not drive or operate machines.
How to store
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25–30 °C in the original packaging. Do not use after the expiry date.
