Paramol Tablets are pain relief tablets formulated to help manage moderate pain that has not been relieved by simpler painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen alone. This pack contains 32 tablets, suitable for short-term use.

How It Works

Paramol contains two active ingredients (typical UK product composition):

Paracetamol – helps to reduce pain and fever.
Dihydrocodeine tartrate – an opioid-type painkiller that helps when paracetamol alone is not enough.

This combination makes Paramol suitable for short-term use when other painkillers are not providing adequate relief.

Dosage

Always read the leaflet and follow the directions on the pack. Do not exceed the stated dose.

Adults and children 12 years and over: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed.
Maximum: Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Children under 12 years: Not recommended.
Short-term use only: If pain lasts more than 3 days or gets worse, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Swallow tablets with water.

Warnings and Precautions

Important: Paramol contains paracetamol. Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products.

Do not exceed the stated dose. Taking too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage.
This medicine contains an opioid (dihydrocodeine) which can cause drowsiness and, if used for longer than directed, may lead to dependence or addiction.
Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy or dizzy after taking this medicine.
Avoid alcohol while taking Paramol, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have:
- Liver or kidney problems
- Breathing problems or asthma
- History of alcohol misuse
- Are taking other medicines (especially for depression, sleep, pain, or seizures)
Pregnant or breastfeeding: consult a healthcare professional before use.

Not everyone will get side effects. Possible side effects may include:
