A maximum-strength, topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for targeted relief of muscular aches, sprains, strains, backache, rheumatic and sports injuries.
Topical use only — Do not swallow.
What it does
Each application delivers 10% w/w ibuprofen directly through the skin to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain in the affected area while keeping whole-body exposure low.
Who can use it
- Adults and children 12 years and over.
- Not for children under 12 years unless advised by a doctor.
Storage
Store below 25 °C. Keep the cap tightly closed. Do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
How to use (Dosage)
Amount per dose:
Apply 2–5 cm of gel (≈ 50–125 mg ibuprofen) to the affected area.
Method:
Gently massage into the skin until absorbed. Wash hands after use (unless treating the hands).
How often:
Use no more frequently than every 4 hours, up to 4 times in 24 hours.
Do not cover with plasters or occlusive dressings. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, lips, nose, or broken/irritated skin.
Stop and seek advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 14 days.
Do not use if
- You are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or any other NSAIDs (e.g., you’ve had asthma, wheeze, rash, or swelling after taking them).
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have broken, infected, or diseased skin in the area of application.
Warnings & precautions
- Avoid using with other medicines that contain ibuprofen or NSAIDs unless a healthcare professional advises.
- If you have a history of asthma, stomach ulcers, kidney or liver problems, high blood pressure, or you take blood thinners or antihypertensives, ask a pharmacist or doctor before use.
- Topical ibuprofen can very rarely cause serious skin reactions; stop immediately if you develop a rash.
- Areas treated may be more sensitive to sunlight; avoid excessive sun exposure and sunbeds on treated skin.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
