How to prepare

Empty one sachet into a glass. Add 125 ml (¼ pint) of water. Stir until dissolved and drink.

May be taken with or without food.

Dosage

Constipation (adults & children ≥12 years)

• 1 sachet, dissolved as directed, 1–3 times daily according to response.
• For longer-term management, many people can reduce to 1–2 sachets daily once comfortable bowel habit returns.

Faecal impaction (on medical confirmation)

• 8 sachets in one day, each dissolved as directed, and consume all 8 within 6 hours.
• Continue for up to 3 days if needed.
• If you have a heart condition, do not take more than 2 sachets in any one hour.

Always read the leaflet. If symptoms persist > 14 days for constipation, seek medical advice.

• Chocolate flavour & sweetener (acesulfame K).

Warnings & Precautions

• Do not use if you have bowel obstruction, perforation, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory bowel disease (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s) or toxic megacolon, or if you are allergic to any ingredient.
• Not recommended under 12 years (use paediatric formulations on medical advice).
• Each sachet contains ~186.9 mg sodium; consider if you are on a low-sodium (salt-restricted) diet.
• Contains potassium; speak to a healthcare professional if you have significant kidney or heart disease or are on medicines that affect electrolytes.
• Stop and seek advice if you develop severe diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea/vomiting, or signs of dehydration.
• Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Ask a healthcare professional before use.
• Drug interactions: Take other oral medicines at least 2 hours before or after Movicol to avoid reducing their absorption.

Storage

• Store below 25 °C in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Use immediately after dissolving.
