How to Apply

1. Clean and dry the area of intact skin.
2. Apply a thick layer of cream to fully cover the area (do not rub in).
3. Cover with an occlusive dressing (for example, a suitable plaster/film) to keep the cream in place.
4. Wait the recommended time (see Dosage & Application Times below), then remove the dressing and wipe off any excess before the procedure.

Always follow the patient information leaflet and any advice from your healthcare professional.

Dosage & Application Times

• Adults & adolescents: Apply a thick layer to intact skin and cover with an occlusive dressing for about 60 minutes for typical needle or minor skin procedures. Some procedures may require up to 120 minutes on intact skin if advised.
• Children: Use only as directed in the leaflet or by a healthcare professional. Amounts and times vary by age and weight.
• Genital mucosa (adults, when advised): Shorter application times are often used; follow professional guidance.
• Do not exceed the maximum total amount or area stated in the leaflet. Do not apply to broken/irritated skin unless specifically told to do so by a clinician.

Warnings & Precautions

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, inside the nose, mouth, ears, or anus unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional.
• Allergies: Do not use if you are allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, other amide-type local anaesthetics, or any of the ingredients.
• Infants & young children: Use only under appropriate guidance. Risk of methaemoglobinaemia exists, especially in very young infants or when used with certain medicines.
• Medical conditions: Speak to a pharmacist/doctor before use if you have G6PD deficiency, anaemia, skin conditions (e.g., severe atopic dermatitis), liver issues, heart rhythm problems, or a history of methaemoglobinaemia.
• Drug interactions: Tell your clinician about all medicines you use. Some medicines (e.g., certain antibiotics, nitrates, sulphonamides, or antiarrhythmics) may increase the risk of side effects.
• Large areas/long durations: Do not apply over large areas, on broken skin, or for longer than directed.
• Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Consult a healthcare professional before use.
• If irritation, pallor/redness, swelling, dizziness, shortness of breath, or any unexpected symptoms occur, remove the cream and seek medical advice.

Possible Side Effects

Commonly mild and temporary at the application site, such as redness, paleness, swelling, tingling, or burning. Rarely, allergic reactions or changes in blood (methaemoglobinaemia) can occur. Stop use and seek medical help if you experience severe or concerning symptoms.

Storage

• Store below the temperature stated on the carton/leaflet.
• Keep the tube tightly closed and out of sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date on the pack.
